Great Exercise Program
A lot of women have taken up
the competitive sport of bodybuilding. A few years ago, it was
considered weird and bizarre that a woman would take up bodybuilding,
but it is much more common now.
Just as the men have taken bodybuilding to an extreme level, with huge
bulging muscles, so have women. While most people still look at
the professional male or female bodybuilder as being a little bit
different than most people, there is nothing wrong with taking up the
sport of female bodybuilding.
Most women who take up bodybuilding, do so as a fitness routine, and
not as a professional bodybuilder. Sometimes, they get so
involved with the bodybuilding workout that it evolves from a simple
exercise into a full scale hobby or even an obsession.
But the majority of women that take up bodybuilding do so to lose
weight and tone up their bodies. The majority of them do not
proceed to the Ms. Olympia contests or even to the local weight lifting
and bodybuilding exhibitions. For them, bodybuilding is simply a
great exercise that helps them lose weight and look great.
Most professional fitness experts will tell you that bodybuilding is
one of the best physical activities if you are trying to lose
weight. Because muscle burns more calories than fat cells, a
physically fit person will tend to stay leaner than a person that
doesn’t exercise.
It becomes a version of perpetual motion, the more exercise you get,
the more energy you burn, and more muscle you build. The more
muscle you build, the more calories you burn, and the more weight you
lose.
Now the scales may tell you that you haven’t lost weight, and it will
be true, because muscle weighs more that fat. But you will have
longer, leaner muscles, you will have a more toned body, so while you
may not have dropped the pounds, you have dropped the inches and people
will notice the great physical shape that you are in.
So if you want to take up a completive hobby, bodybuilding is a great
one to pursue. However, if you just want a way to lose weight and
look great, then you really should look into bodybuilding. You
have nothing to lose but your flab.
